The problem with pain

It may sound like one of the CS Lewis books, but trust me it isn’t.

You toss and turn in your bed. You can’t sleep .Your pillow is soaked in tears. Your eyes are heavy.. You wish for sleep or something to numb the pain. Nothing you try works. Absolutely nothing.

You don’t wake up… because you never slept in the first place.. You can’t think of a reason to go on with life.. You drag yourself out of bed looking haggard.. no appetite..

You look around and think that nobody understands your pain. How can they know? Nobody can identify with what you are going through. At some level you are right because we all handle pain in different ways.. We are all affected at different levels. I however want to sound cliche here.. “Nothing is new under the sun. Everything that is here, has been experienced” Lost a parent? Has happened.. Lost a kid? Yup.. It has happened.. Lost everything? Do I need to keep saying it has happened? You get the gist . it..

All I want to encourage is letting someone in. Let them help you with the pain. Let someone hold you.. Let someone listen to you.. Let someone fight with you. If you are spiritual like me talk it to God. When I have found myself in painful situations, I call my best friend. Most times there is nothing she can do physically, but at least I know I have someone on my side and trust me it has gotten me through lots of shit..

With pain, nobody can prep you enough on what to expect or how you are gonna  feel… nobody tells you how it is gonna hurt like a bitch.. Nobody can prepare you for pain. .And yes, nobody can understand your pain… All I can do is encourage you to share it out.. Let someone know how it feels.. Don’t fight alone.. You can even reach out online…

With the rising number of suicide cases in the country I can’t help but hope that someone will read this and want to fight. Do reach out, even to me… {you got to buy me food though.. sorry. I suck and I know it} but honestly don’t give up without trying. Wishing every other Kenyan a fighting spirit.  Let us all be our brothers keeper. Help soak off some pain in any way you can.

Koffi Olomide Deported

Wow.. wow.. Kenyans on social media are just crazy. Did the Congolese guy just get deported??

Let’s raise the same issue and see if a few things could be corrected in Kenya like tribalism, corruption and stuff.

But wait.. if a foreigner misbehaves in our country, we can deport them.. if Kenyans misbehave in Kenya necessarily Nairobi, shouldn’t they be sent back to their respective villages??

If a guy slaps me

Can we start by saying a small prayer and hope it never happens?
Thanks

The first time I was slapped by someone I was in form 1. Fresh into secondary school. I made fun of my Biology teacher who heard it.. and well, not really fun.. I was just concerned if he would reach the blackboard  since he was very short.. could we just say I was concerned??

Well, in the light of recent event ( Congolese star Koffi Olomide slaps a woman.. caught on camera and now instead of performing in Kenya, Kenyans are screaming for him to be deported back to Congo)
I have been wondering what I would do if a guy slapped me..

Is it police, is it feigning death or what would I do?. I probably would walk away in peace then come back with a jug of hot water from wherever and throw it right into… need I complete that..

On a serious note.. what man slaps a woman? That’s uncouth

Trump say what??

Today I woke up early enough to find early updates and Kenyan t.v hosts making fun of the statement made by Donald Trump on constructing a wall to keep Mexicans away after insulting them.
Now, there was that stupid idea of constructing a wall at the Kenya Somalia border to keep away the Somalis and maybe Trump thought it as a genius idea. I can’t really stop laughing that this guy actually made that a dumb statement. He seriously outdid himself.
But I am happy he finally tasted ‘ You are fired!!! ‘ statement.

( by the way Mexicans, don’t mind that spoilt brat. I believe you are a good people).

Woi Kenyan men..

Is this world going mad or what?? Today I woke up in a superhyped mood if there’s something like that.. I am going through news by standard media and guess who pops up..
You guessed right!! Felix Kiprono. Remember that guy who has offered to raise dowry to marry Malia Obama? Yeah.. that one. Today he isn’t trying to raise the cows. He has changed his accent to win over the Obama girl. Someone wake me up. What’s up with this one?? I have to go back to the 500 pages abnormal psychology book to find his problem. Then maybe he can go back to normal and find himself a beautiful non Nyeri wife.

Talking of Nyeri.  Is there a problem with Nyeri men? For those who have no clue of what’s happening, a Nyeri woman cut off her husband’s penis for suspected cheating. Like literally. This is sad and hilarious at the same time. Was this guy kind of drugged?? I thought men is to muscles. Strong ones. No energy to hold a woman down? I might as well as organize a coup and train women. Something isn’t right here.

The men who can manage women aren’t doing it well. The Nairobi guy who killed his woman for cheating.. what happened to walking away now? The woman came clean. You could file for divorce. You could dump her the Kenyan way and get yourself a beauty. Why make the matter more complicated than it is?

Men I will need you to man up and behave in a logic manner. You need muscles, a sound mind and a brain to reason. Stop walking around saying you are men simply because of your genitals..
Nkt!!

Are you dating a sociopath or are you one??

image

A sociopath can be defined as a person who has Antisocial Personality Disorder. This disorder is characterized by a disregard for the feelings of others, a lack of remorse or shame, manipulative behavior, unchecked egocentricity, and the ability to lie in order to achieve one’s goals. Sociopaths can be dangerous at worst or simply very difficult to deal with, and it’s important to know if you’ve found yourself with a sociopath, whether it’s someone you’re dating or an impossible coworker. If you want to know how to spot a sociopath, then you have to pay careful attention to what the person says or  does.
Check out the traits

Traits of sociopaths

Very intelligent. Most serial killers are sociopaths and afforded evading police for long
Very charming
Manipulative
They don’t show anxiety or respond to news really calmly
When dating one, he/she wants to isolate you from friends and family.
They have few real friends, have high ego and so charming that they radiate sexuality. Sociopaths also show signs of violence and uncontrollable anger

If you realize that you have three or more of these traits or you have a relationship with someone with such, you need  to read further.

In a relationship though, show boredom. Do not act excited. Sociopaths get easily bored.. he/she will get bored and walk away
Don’t give in to the charms of a socio  but don’t confront them. They can be really dangerous.
A socio is manipulative, if you leave a relationship, they could trick you into feeling sorry for them. Don’t fall for it.
Warn others and avoid the sociopath. Make your own choices.

People who seem too good to be true, need to be considered. They might be sociopaths. The romantic ones…be on your toes.

Inhumanity

The song praise you in the storm by Casting Crowns is playing on my phone and I am really sad and I am singing along. Today has been a really sad day for Kenya. If you haven’t watched news or maybe missed CNN,  let me update you.

Garissa University was today attacked by terrorists in the morning and students have been killed and some are being held hostage in the school. The school is surrounded by police who can’t do much because the students in the school have been approximated to be more than two hundred. The death toll has risen to 147 and the injured students are almost the same number.

I am grateful that it isn’t my school though very worried where these people will go next. The terror threat alerts texts have been going around and it’s very sad that we didn’t believe that it would really be carried out in a school that was just promoted to a university such as Garissa. People actually thought it would be either University of Nairobi or Kenyatta University. As for me, I never thought that students would be attacked at all and when my cousin passed on the alert, I told him to stop filling up my what’s app messages.

It is even sadder for me because just last month I met ladies from Garissa University who were taking part in the University Games and they were all excited since they were initially a college and now a university. I actually shared a name with one girl and we got along really well but I can’t find out if she is okay because I didn’t take her number.

It’s sadder for parents who were excited that their kids were admitted to the university and now all they will do is mourn whereas others don’t know if their daughters and sons will come out safe. They are worried that their babies will never be the same. My heart cries out to those who are watching their friends being ruthlessly murdered and do not know their fate.

I am lying awake praying for parents to be strong, for students to be released and young innocent souls to rest in peace. I am crying for my country Kenya that is mourning and for all students who are living in fear. For all those parents who will hesitate to take their children to school because they are so worried. I also cry for the mothers whose sons are capable of such inhumane acts. For the terrorist themselves for preying on innocent, harmless, defenseless and young souls.
